My wife, Michal Perlman, and her graduate students asked 62 kids in junior kindergarten to describe how they would respond to six different possession related conflict scenarios. Each move was coded on a 5-point “constructiveness” scale. The procedure was repeated six months later with the same children.
This visualization tool maps their responses over time. Highly overlapping lines make for a low “ink ratio” which indicates that child provides consistent narratives across the six scenarios. This program was written with Processing.
